You should also know that the gas dryer is a bit more dangerous, since there is gas involved in the process. The fumes should be vented outdoors, never indoors, and you should always have fire extinguisher nearby in case of a malfunction and fire. But if you keep your dryer in good order, maintain it and keep the vents clean, you won't have any problems with gas or electric clothes dryers.
